Course Study Group
COVID-19 services update: Most Course Study Groups are held online using Microsoft Teams. Please contact Courtney Mansor, fv5600@wayne.edu for access to any of the open groups.
Please be sure that you have access to reliable internet and/or audio.
We are currently accepting Study Group requests. You are highly encouraged to request a weekly study group early in the semester. Any questions, please contact Courtney Mansor, fv5600@wayne.edu
Please check the Supplemental Instruction Schedule for additional weekly collaborative study sessions:
If you do not see your course, please complete a Study Group Request for your group.
Who are the Course Study Facilitators?
The facilitators are tutors. The facilitators assist group members in understanding the class material and integrate effective learning strategies and/or study skills.
Is Course Study Group for me?
If you agree with any of the following statements, you may want to participate in the course study program.
- I want to practice and acquire various ways of learning and studying.
- I like to talk about what I learned and what I didn't understand in class.
- I like to study in a structured group environment.
- I am interested in developing leadership and interpersonal skills.
- I want more preparation and to do well in exams.
How to Participate in a Course Study Group?
Please check the course study group schedule before requesting a new group. If there is an existing group that is still open to more students, you are highly encouraged to join the existing group. The groups meet once or twice (1 hour to 2 hours) per week throughout the entire semester. There is no additional charge to the students for this support. All course study groups are coordinated through the Peer Assisted Learning Program in the Academic Success Center. If you are interested to join an existing group, please contact Courtney Mansor, fv5600@wayne.edu.
Please review the course study group rules before signing up to ensure agreement with the expectations.
