First Year Seminar

Learning Communities

In Learning Communities, small groups of students with similar interests work closely together in a "community of learners." Students, along with advanced student mentors and a faculty advisor, study, socialize and problem-solve together. 

Learning While Leading Conference

This is a conference for Wayne State Students to create and share knowledge, grow as leaders, and learn from their peers with the guidance and support from faculty and/or staff.

Math Literacy Services
Learn how to be an independently motivated math student.

Peer Assisted Learning

  • Supplemental Instruction
    Learn alongside a group of peers weekly, led by an experienced peer.
  • Course Study Group
    Weekly small groups requested by students, facilitated by an experienced peer.  Study groups deliver leadership opportunities in addition to subject matter review.
  • Tutoring
    One-to-one sessions on an appointment basis.

Learn brain-based study strategies to enhance academic performance.

Student Success Workshops
Gain academic and personal development skills in a group setting.
