STUDENT ASSISTANT STUDY SKILLS COACH

Days/hours & duration of job:

8 - 20 hours/week (may vary based on need and experience)

Seeking a Study Skills Coach who can work during afternoon and some morning hours. Fall 2021 work is remote and in-person. Winter 2021 work arrangements are to be determined.

Wage/Salary:

$10.00/hour

Job Description:

Responsible as follows:

• Deliver one-to-one customized study skills planning sessions with undergraduate students
• Stay current with evidence-based study skills techniques
• Collaborate with the Study Skills Academy team to optimize student success
• Participate in professional development activities/events
• Refer students to services within the Academic Success Center as necessary
• Maintain student confidentiality
• Participate in Academic Success Center events and activities
• Assist with marketing (such as social media and resource tables) for the Study Skills Academy & Academic Success Center services
• Other related duties as assigned
• Maintain qualifications throughout employment
• Other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Undergraduate student at WSU
• Strong acadedemic performance 
• Minimum of two semesters of attendance at WSU
• Familiarity with effective, evidence-based study skills strategies
• Ability to display empathy, interpersonal skills, and work with a diverse range of students
• Familiarity with campus resources
